How to refresh yeast water (click to enlarge pic)

Now you have made some bread with your pet, yeast water, and enjoyed it.

Of course you need to refresh and increase the amount of your yeast water for next baking opportunity.
I know, you don't want to do making yeast water making step from the beginning.

Good news!
You can simply add water and feed your pet some sugar in the jar.

Sugar does not only mean 'sugar' sugar.

Anything that is naturally sweet. (naturally. 0 calorie sweetner won't work.)

I use raisin or other type of dried fruits.

REFRESH
1. Get the jar from your refrigerator and open it.

2. Put some 'sugar'. (10raisin, 1-2 slices of apple, half a teaspoon of sugar, honey..)

3. Cover and let it sit in room temperature over night. (longer in cold days, shorte in hot days)

4. Use it for baking or put it back in the refrigerator.

REFRESH and INCREASE ITS AMOUNT
1. Fill the jar up to 80% of the jar.

2. Follow all the steps above but wait for a bit longer.
( Should not take more than 2 days to reenergize.)

THank you for this site and info! THis site is soooo neat. I try to bake most of our own breads (family of 6) I am always looking for ways to improve and do more independent of the grocery store. I was on a bread site and saw your post linking me here. I am so excited to see this is possible! Can you use tea leaves from a tea bag that has been used and steeped? A dry tea bag? Or do you need fresh tea leaves?

I am going to start experimenting!

Oh another thing....can you adapt your own recipe by adding the yeast water as the liquid it calls for?? How do I use my current recipes and the yeast water?

hello

I just made my first yeast water inspired by your ideas. But, once it's done, with the bubbles, etc, what should you do with it? Yes, of course, I know, bake a bread, but furthermore, how often should it be refreshed??? every day, every two days? please, broaden the info about it, since it´s such a very exciting adventure I want to be successful!
